Pondering the Future of ECM

After I discovered yet another “two guys and a computer” pitching their “new” Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution, I wondered …

Will there be a Fabsoft  ECM solution?  We are all looking for a Newgen solution full of Software Innovation.  We’ve used Laserfiche to scan one Box full of … M-files after another Dropbox full.  ECM has become Systemware.   We need to come up with a new Objective and take ECM to a SharePoint in the future.  Yes, SER Group.

We don’t need some SAP to OpenText and read us a verse Everteam has already heard.  Nor do we need to head Upland to the Hylands in search of an Oracle to listen to their stories and Documentum. We’ve read the Xerox our Content Manager shared.

ECM need a visionary with a new Perceptive to lead the way.

If you have a headache, blame a Tweet from Laurence.  He got me thinking about updating my ECM consultant’s mission statement from 2008.

(Malapropism is the use of an incorrect word in place of a word with a similar sound, resulting in a nonsensical, often humorous utterance.)
